Hi there, we are using GPS logger in ecological research logging positions and altitudes on transects.
We are using the manual method with the "Annotate" button to add points along the transect.

The following features would be nice to have:

  1. when pushing Annotate the Description field is pre-filled with P-n, where n is the number of the new point to add within the current track. The fist time Annotate is pushed its P-1 etc.

  2. On the GPS-Fix screen add the following fields:
    a) Distance to last point (meters)
    b) Distance to first point (meters) (the first point in the track)
    c) Bearing from the first point (Degrees as in 95.125 true)

This would allow somebody walking a transect to stay on the initial bearing and to stop and log a new point when required, without using any other means to do so. If you wanted to you add also "height from last" and "height from first" to the display.

In the track export add the field "distance from last", "distance from first" and "bearing to first" , and if you wanted, also the heights as above to the export for each point.
