Trying to get this to work with ELK 7.11

I have been asked to setup ELK and get this to work but I am not able to do so. Does anybody know of a way to get this to work with ELK 7.11? This is a new setup and nothing is working as it should including creating a new index pattern as described in the documentation. I can create a pattern based of of filebeat or metricbeat but the naming convention is quite different.

The bwcdrprocessor, collector, processor, and receiver is on a different server so the only thing I am trying to do is get the dashboard and discovery set up on the stack

I do have TLS and HTTP enabled and working as they should. I also set up a filebeat ingest from a test syslog server to ensure the stack is working and I am not having any issues there.

Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.
