Procedure to add a new language? #2
Comments
Is the SSD dead? It could use an update. There would probably also be volunteers for new languages. |
It's not dead, it's resting! Beautiful plumage... |
How old does it have to become until the (potentially outdated) hints pose a security risk to those that follow it? What's the plan? Some texts have been reviewed quite recently. Someone is taking care. Would this person be willing to accommodate new languages? And, by the way, the GH repo doesn't seem to contain the English source text. Where is it? |
No clue, hence my post in 2016. It's very confusing. This repo seems abandoned, and that's a real shame. |
The SSD website is still alive and kicking, though: https://ssd.eff.org/ https://www.eff.org/about/staff mentions how to contact the EFF and the translations manager who coordinates translations. |
Dear Carlos Wertheman, I am contacting you because you are listed as responsible 'translations manager' on the page 'https://www.eff.org/about/staff'. Others and I have found that the translations of the great website 'https://ssd.eff.org/' have not been updated in 7 years. That being said, some of the information on the English website is becoming dated, even though there is obviously some review activity. We like to humbly suggest to revive this project in several dimensions:
The design is great and timeless. No concerns in that regard! Yours, |
Carlos responded. They are well aware of the fact that the SSD was dormant and they are currently in the process of reviving it. He is asking for a little patience... |
Howdie,
I got no answers on the SSD repo, and only found out about this repo today. Can you add a readme about adding a new language? should I just copy over an existing file of another language and start working on it, and send a pull request?
Should I wait for a new extport? I'm guessing this is a 2 year old export that may not be a good starting point.
