Show publication preview image without cropping

For a publication, the featured image shows up in the homepage as cropped. How can I disable this behavior and show the full image? Can I override something in this file https://github.com/wowchemy/wowchemy-hugo-themes/blob/main/wowchemy/layouts/partials/page_header.html ? Please advise.

I would also like to find a way to display the full picture as my pictures are cropped by a lot and don't look nice / give very partial information about the real content.

I also want to find an answer to this, the cropping in the featured publication card is actually getting rid of important info in my featured image... Hopefully someone will respond to this comments.
