The deployment is not automated at the moment. A maintainer has to manually build and publish. (This is scripted and there is chance for automating this with a CI server)
The contributors send PRs to the Gatsby repo on GitHub only and get merged on weekly basis. There are automated checks and other checks include testing locally. Either core members merge PR or the Gatsbot.

Would you like to work on the issue?
Yeah sure, if there's a way.
The changes from the merged PR #177 haven't went live yet. [Netlify deploy preview]
So I'm assuming the site is served from the master branch.
Is there some interval after which the maintainers deploy all the merged PRs to master branch?
Or is the process automated?
Or do the contributors need to send separate PRs to both the gatsby and master branches?
Also, can this be indicated in the CONTRIBUTING.md file too?
