To enhance the Periodic Elements mod, our goal is to sequentially implement blocks for each of the 118 elements of the Periodic Table in Minecraft or Minetest. By tackling this task in numerical order, from Hydrogen (1) to Oganesson (118), we aim to simplify the development process and maintain a clear path of progression. This epic will serve as a roadmap for the development, allowing us to track progress through a series of manageable steps.

Objective:

Develop and integrate 118 unique blocks, each representing a different element of the Periodic Table, into the Periodic Elements mod. Focus on implementing these elements in sequential order to streamline development and ensure completeness.

Sub-Tasks Checklist:

  • Preparation

    • Review and finalize design guidelines for all element blocks.
    • Establish a framework for properties and interactions of each element.
    • Set up a version control and task management system to track progress.
  • Sequential Implementation Phases

    • Phase 1: Elements 1-20 (Hydrogen to Calcium)
    • Phase 2: Elements 21-40 (Scandium to Zirconium)
    • Phase 3: Elements 41-60 (Niobium to Neodymium)
    • Phase 4: Elements 61-80 (Promethium to Mercury)
    • Phase 5: Elements 81-100 (Thallium to Fermium)
    • Phase 6: Elements 101-118 (Mendelevium to Oganesson)
  • Quality Assurance and Testing

    • Conduct thorough testing for each phase to ensure functionality and stability.
    • Perform visual consistency checks across all element blocks.
    • Validate all element properties and interactions are as intended.
  • Documentation and Community Engagement

    • Update the mod’s documentation progressively with each phase release.
    • Engage with the community for feedback and suggestions after each phase.
    • Incorporate community feedback into future development cycles where applicable.
  • Finalization and Release

    • Ensure all elements are implemented and tested.
    • Compile comprehensive release notes detailing the addition of all 118 elements.
    • Officially release the updated version of the mod with all new element blocks included.

Discussion Points:

  • Methods for efficiently managing and documenting the sequential development process.
  • Potential for incremental releases to gather early feedback on subsets of element blocks.
  • Strategies for optimizing performance and compatibility with the broader Minecraft/Minetest ecosystem.

Conclusion:

This epic outlines a structured and sequential approach to the significant task of introducing 118 unique element blocks to the Periodic Elements mod. By dividing the work into six manageable phases, we can maintain focus and ensure quality, while also engaging with the community to refine and enhance the mod. We encourage collaboration and feedback throughout this journey to create an educational and engaging experience for all players.

This revised approach should make the development process more manageable and straightforward, focusing on a clear, sequential progression.
