Cura Version

5.9.0

Operating System

windows 11 64 bit

Printer

Flsun Q5

Reproduction steps

This is nothing about the printing side of things!
Please can you find the right people to send this to please!
As soon as i try and add anything to the build plate, ie pressing the folder icon top left, it says from disk or from On shape.
Cura then crashes, it comes up with Open files (not Responding)
I have tried uninstalling then installing again and still it is the same!
Hope some one can help me!
Thanks.

Thanks for your report.

It looks like your installation is having issues showing the file dialog. It could be that the thumbnail database for your Downloads folder is corrupt. Does your Downloads folder contain any particularly large files? If you browse to the Downloads folder in a normal Windows Explorer window, can you get the thumbnails to display?

Here's something to try:

  • In Cura, go to Help -> Show configuration folder
  • Quit Cura
  • Open the cura.cfg file (from the configuration folder) in a text editor such as notepad
  • Find [local file] and remove the line starting with dialog_load_path
  • Save cura.cfg
  • Restart Cura
  • Try loading a file that is not inside the Downloads folder
