Running choosenim using the curl command installed the older stable version (1.2.0 instead of 1.4.8).

Perhaps since there was an older choosenim install already, the script was somehow unable to detect the older install.

This was resolved for now by running choosenim update stable, however the author requested that an issue be filed to look into the older-install check.

@circular Let me clear your problem ...

Did you mean:

  • You have installed choosenim by downloading from Github release page and then, install nim 1.2.0
  • Then, you run choosenim installation script?

@dom96 How do you understand his problem ... Am I right?

My guess is:

  • Choosenim was installed using the script, it downloaded Nim 1.2.0
  • After a few months later the script was run again, it once again installed Nim 1.2.0 which was unexpected

A fix here could be as simple as running choosenim update stable automatically in the script.

If this is up for grabs, I can try taking a look at it. :) I'm guessing it's as simple as adding @dom96 's suggestion after downloading choosenim?
