Pantheon Mail 2.0 MVP

Pantheon Mail 2.0 is an in-progress rewrite of the default email client. It uses the powerful and mature Evolution Data Server (EDS) as a backend. It currently lacks feature parity with the stable 1.x line and a few other planned features.

Outcome

The goal of this project would be to achieve the said feature parity with 1.x and develop the planned new features. These can be found at the MVP project and the 2.0.0 milestone. The highlights include:

• Ability to save drafts.
• Ability to archive messages.
• Dark style support for compliant messages.
• UX improvements to the conversation list view.
• Tentative: integration with Online Accounts, depending on its readiness

Requirements

• Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages, specifically Vala and the widget toolkit GTK.
• Familiarity with GLib (especially GLib.Action).
• Familiarity with EDS, Camel and WebKit would be helpful.
• It is highly recommended completing the developer guide.
