Override id generation for existing files?

I tried changing the note_id_func, but I still get filename as id when I save a file; Changing note_frontmatter_func doesn't help either, since id is set before the function gets called. Is this intentional?

for now this works I guess:

      if #note.id == 1 then
        out.id = note_id_func()
      else
        out.id = note.id
      end

and then manually changing the id to any single letter
