Currently, the mode only offers syntax support. For all of the hard-core Splunk developers using Emacs (of which I'm sure there's many), perhaps an electric minor mode would be helpful.

I started implementing this in b334730 before realising it's holding up an initial release. After reverting in it 899027a, I figured we'd track this with a standalone issue/PR.
