Is there an existing issue for this?

  • This is a bug in RetroArch frontend
  • I have searched the existing issues

Description

I go to a playlist, scroll to the game I want to play, choose it, and it plays great. Once I exit the game, the playlist has reverted to the top entry - it doesn't save my place. I also use version 1.20.0 on Android and don't have this issue.

It isn't a huge deal, except when I am curating my collection, hunting for bad roms, etc. When I have to scroll down hundreds of entries each time I quit a game it becomes a bit tedious.

Expected behavior

upon closing content, or just toggling the menu while in a game, the same game should still be highlighted in the playlist instead of reverting to the top of the playlist

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. select a playlist
  2. select a game and run
  3. toggle menu
  4. close content (or back out of quick menu to playlist)
  5. browse playlist

I'm seeing this behavior in both ozone and xmb. I haven't tried the other menu drivers.

Additionally, I'm experiencing this issue on two different M2 iPads - one with a completely fresh install of RA

Just tried it on an iPhone 11 running iOS 18.2.1 - same issue
