Cython compilation with scikit-build-core?

Hello,
in a previous Cython discussion there was a question about Cython support. In the docs, an example with Cython is included (in a tab option). The example just shows one Cython file.
Can we compile a project with one Cython file having dependencies to other .c and .h files? I talk about plain C and not C++ here.
Is there an example for this anywhere?

Found it and created a small test repo for demonstration here: test-cython-scikit.
