Is this feature request related to a problem?

  1. drag and drop 10 files to program window
  2. edit file
  3. press ctrl+w to close file
  4. press space to confirm save
  5. there is another window, asking about save options (compression, color format)

please add option to remove this window, and use defaults.
so after clicking on ctrl+w, space, file is saved, and I can work on another opened file.

Also, right now, space does nothing in 'save options' window. Perhaps default (pressing space or enter) could be mapped to 'OK'
(This, default mapping, on second screen is low priority)

Describe the best way to implement this.

somewhere in tools/options/saving, 'don't show save options, use default values instead'

Thank you!

If this feature makes it into PhotoDemon, I am happy to add your name to PhotoDemon's contributor list. Please let me know what name (and optional website link) you'd like me to use.

Thank you. This program is nice, and fast.

...same as the "Enter" key.

Relates to #566. Thank you to @dbojan for the suggestion!

Hello @dbojan . Thank you for your suggestions. I apologize that it has taken me so long to reply!

I've just uploaded a new nightly build where the Space key acts the same as the Enter key on pop-up windows. Thank you for this suggestion.

About a new option to disable save options... I'll be honest, I am extremely uncomfortable about a setting like that, because it represents a huge potential for damaged or destroyed images. A common example is a user mistakenly setting a low JPEG quality setting - like 10 when they meant 100. Reusing that setting across a full session could destroy all edited images.

I am inclined to avoid a setting like that for now, but if you have used other software with a don't show save options dialog, can you let me know? I would be curious to see how other developers handle the option.

Thank you.

Hello @tannerhelland .
Option to save without 'save option' display is used in Pixelitor, and Pinta. Maybe just add option for lossless file formats then, like tiff and/or png?

Thanks.
