Owner API Keeps Signing Out #4507

This is the 3rd occasion since entering 2025 that I have encountered data not reporting to Teslamate. Upon accessing the Teslamate status page I'm presented with the account login screen. It does successfully login and begin working immediately but I cannot figure out any rhyme or reason why this is occurring. Should I just switch to the Fleet API or is there potentially some other issue occurring? I'm inclined to think this is a 'me' issue simply because I don't see anyone reporting this specific problem but maybe most have moved to the Fleet API at this point. In a perfect world I'd just stay on the Owner's API as long as possible since it is fine otherwise(at least at the moment). Open to suggestions, and any help is appreciated. Thanks! |

There were several posts about it in the Issues and Discussions. I would venture to say there is some maintenance / work being performed on the Tesla side. #4499, #4505 , #4500 |

That's fair. I was not connecting them as the same issue since it doesn't look like any of them were presented with the login screen and I'm not seeing anyone noting that logging back in resolved other than a comment I made in 1 of them. That's not to say Owner API isn't root cause of all of the above. I'll keep monitoring. |

I believe I found the culprit and it was indeed a me issue. I use NordVPN and Split Tunnel a couple things through the VPN with everything else, including TeslaMate not using the VPN. Apparently everything still goes through the NordVPN DNS even if it is not using the VPN. I discovered I was also having issues doing a Google search despite Chrome not being set to use the VPN. I custom set the NordVPN DNS to 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1 which resolved my Google search issue(curiously using 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 still wouldn't allow me to Google) and looks to have absolved me of the near nightly TeslaMate sign outs that had started occurring as I'm 4 days issue free now since adjusting the DNS. I can only speculate why it would let TeslaMate login but then boot it later on but the matter seems resolved. |
