When someone new joins the group, one of the chairs should send the following message to [email protected], CCing the new member.

Subject: New member

[name] from [Company] has just joined the Browser Extension CG.

Hi [name], and welcome.

Could you send a brief introductory message to this mailing list [email protected]? That way we also know that the mailing list works correctly. Thanks.

The way this CG works is described in its charter: https://browserext.github.io/charter/

I encourage you to read the following sections in particular:

A list of the specifications being worked on can be found here: https://browserext.github.io/work_items/

All technical discussions happen in GitHub issues of the relevant specification. Our public mailing-list [email protected] can be used for high level discussions. Please make sure you are subscribed to that list. We reserve [email protected] for confidential or purely administrative information.

Teleconferences are held semi regularly, and announced in advance. The instructions for joining the call are available here: https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/internal-browserext/2016Sep/0000.html Please send regrets if you can't attend.

We also use an IRC channel: #browserext on irc.w3.org:6665. It's most heavily used during telcons and meetings, but there are occasionally some people there at other times, too.

Thanks,
